RNY Gastric Bypass
RNY Gastric Bypass, which stands for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, seals the upper portion of the stomach off from the rest of the stomach using surgical staples, creating a small stomach pouch. This upper portion is then attached close to the end of the small intestine, bypassing much of the intestine and limiting the amount of calories the body absorbs from food.
