Laparoscopic Vbg
Laparoscopic VBG (vertical banded gastroplasty) reduces the size of the stomach by vertically stapling a small pouch of the stomach directly below the esophagus, and inserting a non-stretchable band where the stomach is connected to the esophagus. The intestines are not cut or rerouted; however, the procedure significantly restricts the patient’s food intake.
