Gastric Banding weight loss surgery allows the stomach to be divided by a silicone band. The upper part of the stomach, the smallest banded portion, creates a “full” feeling after just a small amount of food. The band ensures that there is only a small passage way between the upper and lower stomach, allowing that feeling of satiety to last despite the small amount of food consumed.
