Get the details in this report from WLS News.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with breast cancer, be sure to watch tomorrow’s episode of Plastic Surgery Talk on our sister network, The Plastic Surgery Channel. The show features Rebecca Larson, a 32-year-old breast cancer survivor who underwent reconstructive surgery after a double mastectomy, and Dr. Louis Bucky, MD, FACS, a board certified plastic surgeon who performs more than 400 breast surgeries each year. Dr. Bucky explains the factors that determine whether a woman is a candidate for reconstructive surgery, and how breast cancer patients can make sure they are fully informed about their treatment options.

Research shows that women who suffer from obesity have higher rates of cancer, including breast cancer. The good news is that breast cancer can be treated if caught early. In fact, mortality rates decreased by 1.8% each year between 1998 and 2005. But sadly, 70% of women who undergo breast cancer treatment are not fully informed about their options for reconstructive surgery, according to a recent report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with breast cancer, be sure to watch the upcoming episode of Plastic Surgery Talk on our sister network, The Plastic Surgery Channel.
