I contributed to those statistics for 30 years (in Louisiana) and have many cousins in Mississippi. I’m sure the poverty situation also makes it more difficult because you don’t exactly go for regular checkups and that means you don’t have a doc that stays on you about your weight. Of course when you live in a place where 1 in 3 are obese, you don’t particularly stand out as much as you would in a place like Colorado so I would think that would cut down on motivaiton as well. The food is a problem as well…a lot of people do raise their own veggies but when you cook collard greens and you put tons of bacon and bacon fat in them….WOWWIE WOW WOW are they good…just not good for you. I’ll go back to my own little world now and try to improve that! Awesome job Leslie as usual!
