Weight Loss Surgery Conference Spotlights Post-Op Support

Post-operative care for weight loss surgery patients is a hot topic at the 26th annual conference of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.  Go behind the scenes with Craig Thompson, founder of the Weight Loss Surgery Channel, Yvonne McCarthy (BariatricGirl.com) and Chef Dave as they highlight innovative products for patients and other happenings at the event.

Weight-Loss-Surgery-Channel-at-ASMBSWhen the bariatric surgeons, nutritionists and patient coordinators leave the educational courses and meetings at the 26th annual conference of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), they head to the exhibit hall. But while several exhibits showcase medical technologies geared toward improving the safety and effectiveness of bariatric surgery procedures, still others primarily are aimed at helping patients after their surgery.

The conference is currently underway at the Gaylord Resort & Hotel in Grapevine, Texas. And, from the number of exhibitors offering products and services for post-operative care, it’s easy to see that surgeons and allied healthcare professionals are focused on helping the patient succeed in every way possible. Craig Thompson, president of the Weight Loss Surgery Channel, Yvonne McCarthy, host of WLS Journeys, and bariatric cooking expert Chef Dave discuss some of the most interesting finds, from tasty chewable vitamin supplements to innovative pain pumps, in this special report straight from the exhibit hall floor.
