From single-incision surgical techniques to the focus on patient post-op support to the controversy surrounding medical tourism, the 26th annual meeting of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) provided plenty of fodder for discussion among those in the medical field.
Bariatric surgeon Dr. David Provost joins Craig Thompson, president of the Weight Loss Surgery Channel, Executive Producer Leslie Thompson, and Yvonne McCarthy, host of WLS Journeys, to discuss the key takeaways from the conference, and the important work of the ASMBS Foundation.

I had gastric bypass in October of 2006 and lost 130 pounds. I am so glad my doctor – Thomas Sonnanstine – knew how very important post op support is. He has a wonderful support program… meetings, nutritionist, psychologist, exercise expert and makes himself available to his patients whenever they have questions. It has made all the difference in being able to maintain my weight loss!
