Weight Loss Can be about how self-aware the patient is, a new study shows. Watch to find out more!
A new Japanese study suggests that self-awareness is connected to losing weight. A team of researchers at Doshisha University in Japan profiled 101 obese patients who were part of a six-month weight loss program.
All the patients had undergone counseling, nutrition and exercise therapy. The researchers found that the people who managed to improve their self-awareness during those six months were most likely to lose weight.
The study noted that it wasn’t being more optimistic that helped with weight loss – but being more self-aware. In this study, that meant being more aware of why being obese can lead to illness, and even death.
