School Physical Education Programs Suffer Budget Cut

PE budget cutA coalition called Up2Us recently finished a report showing that schools nationwide have suffered $2 billion in cuts on sports and physical education programs. According to the report, the cuts have caused a rise in both obesity and violent behavior among students.

Study co-author Brian Greenwood said these problems come from removing positive ways that students can occupy their time. Many school sports programs in the U.S. are still intact.
